YWCA Gifted with a New Play Area

In Memory of Cliff Beu - Long time Steel City Kiwanian

One of the day’s special guests was Liz Beu, Cliff Beu’s widow.
“Cliff would be tickled to death to see this,” Liz Beu said. “All the children’s projects that Kiwanis ever did, he was a part of. They always meant so very much to him. And we are proud to be part of this project.”
Courtesy of a large sign attached to the protective fence, the origins of the play area are explained for all to remember: “Cliff Beu was a long time Kiwanian who dedicated thousands of hours to serving the children in our Pueblo community: one child at a time.”

Mentoring Program

Steel City Donated $600

We donated $600 to the United Way mentoring program for the purchase of new supplies. Through our Community Development, we have the potential to make a real and positive change in the community. This is one of our key areas of focus here at Steel City Kiwanis Club, and a source of much success for our club. Every year we donated over 2500 to local causes/non profits.

Sweet Dreams in a Bag

Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be know - Carl Sagan

Most of our efforts pertaining to this program involve a donation and volunteer work. Every year we help Sweet Dream in a bag provide children in the Pueblo county foster system to get the supplies they need. All of the supplies are given away along with members of our club reading to the children.
